The 2026 Tour parks the GC fight on Alpe d’Huez for back-to-back summit finishes: Stage 19 on Friday, July 24 (Gap → Alpe, 127.9 km, classic 21 bends) and Stage 20 on Saturday, July 25 (Le Bourg-d’Oisans → Alpe, 170.9 km, ~5,450 m of climbing).
This countdown opens on Friday’s first Alpe day. Saturday’s queen-mountain card is a separate product — same village, different ascent.

Most Alpe returns are one summit finish and a postcard. In 2026 ASO stacks Friday’s 21 hairpins against Saturday’s Sarenne approach after Croix de Fer, Télégraphe, and Galibier — same resort village, opposite roads into the finish.
That double is why “Alpe weekend” cannot share a countdown with L’Étape on July 19 or with the Champagne parade on the Champs. Two stages, two climbs, one mountain — and the GC can still explode before Paris.
