Hirabayashi told press that without RE Engine, they could not realize Kamiya’s artistic ambitions for the new Okami. The same tech stack behind modern Resident Evil is now the canvas for sumi-e wolves and Celestial Brush combat.
That pairing is the oddest checkable fact on an otherwise empty calendar: a painterly myth-Japan sequel riding the engine famous for photoreal zombies — which is also why “it’ll ship next spring” rumors deserve more skepticism than hype.
